John Carter and Tars Tarkas battle their way through the enemy lines in search of the kidnapped Dejah Thoris. Ultimately their quest leads them to an old for, Tal Mordin. During the battle an explosion rips through the scene, with assassins fleeing for their lives and John Carter and Tars Tarkas borrowing an abandoned flier to head back to Helium.This issue was delayed for a month, due to renewed negotiations with Edgar Rice Burroughs' estate.
